CMHA Edmonton offers multiple volunteer roles including Warm Line Volunteer (non-crisis peer listening), Distress Line Volunteer (crisis support via phone), Facilitator of Suicide Bereavement Support Groups (virtual), Fund Development / Event Ambassador, and Administrative Services (behind-the-scenes tasks). All volunteers receive 90 hours of training covering communication, resource awareness, crisis intervention, and more.
Volunteers are expected to commit long term to support client continuity and system stability. The organization also seeks diversity and explicitly welcomes applications from underrepresented communities. The voluntary roles are critical in delivering mental health support and building resilience in the community.
